Samsung to make phones with transparent displays, awarded patent for transparent display

Transparent Phone

This year has been the year of display technology; we have seen companies lining up products with HD and Full HD displays while Samsung and LG coming up with curved displays. Samsung has recently filed a patent for transparent display, which comes with touch capabilities on both the front and rear side. The company is awarded patent for this latest technology and is likely to implement it in the years to come.

Oppo N1
We have seen rear touch panel on the popular Oppo N1 which also features a swivel camera, but displays that are transparent? We are yet to see this technology on the smartphones. With this latest technology in action we can have compact smartphones with enhanced single hand usage. This latest tech from Samsung will allow users to open folders, applications and games, and unlock the device without blocking the primary display area on the phone. This feature will allow users to control videos from the rear

side and will certainly add up an extra start to the User Interface in separating overlapped pictures.

HTC One Max
Smartphones are getting bigger day-by-day and single hand use is just not possible with the current size of smartphones, thus companies like LG, Samsung and HTC are coming up with rear side functionality of the phone. LG G2 and G Flex come with rear Power and Volume keys, while HTC has the finger print sensor on the One max. Oppo came up with a revolutionary innovation on the N1 with touch sensitive rear panel which allows scrolling and tap functions.
LG G2

Well if this technology from Samsung comes to life, we will have transparent phones which can be used comfortably with single hand.
